A recliner needs two measurements, not one: the space it takes upright, and the length it reaches fully reclined. The DOT GO and DOT Lite are 70 cm wide, 90 cm deep upright and 169 cm long fully reclined. Plan for that reclined length plus room to walk around it. That is the short answer. The rest of this guide shows how to check your own room before you order.
The numbers that matter

| Model | Width | Upright depth | Fully reclined length |
|---|---|---|---|
| DOT GO | 70 cm | 90 cm | 169 cm |
| DOT Lite | 70 cm | 90 cm | 169 cm |
The width never changes. It is the depth that grows as the chair reclines and the footrest rises. A chair that fits comfortably upright can block a walkway once it is reclined, so always plan for the reclined length.
For the DOT V2.1, check the dimensions on its product page before you plan the space.
How to check your room in ten minutes

- Pick the spot first. A recliner works best where you would naturally sit to read, watch or rest: a corner of the living room, beside a window, or opposite the screen.
- Mark the reclined footprint on the floor. Use masking tape to mark a rectangle 70 cm wide and 169 cm long. This is the space the chair occupies at full recline.
- Check the wall behind it. The backrest moves as the chair reclines. Before you push the chair against a wall, see it recline in a showroom or at home, and leave the gap it needs.
- Walk around the tape. You should be able to pass the chair comfortably while it is reclined. If you have to turn sideways, choose a different spot.
- Look for doors, windows and storage. Make sure a door, a window that opens inwards or a cabinet front does not swing into the footprint.
- Find the power. DOT is electric, so check where the cable will run and keep it out of the walking path.
Room by room

A small living room. A 70 cm wide recliner takes about the same width as one sofa seat. In a corner beside an L-shape sofa it adds a dedicated seat without crowding the room. Keep the reclined length clear of the coffee table.
A bedroom. A recliner in the corner gives you a place to read that is not the bed. Measure from the wall to the end of the bed frame, and make sure the reclined length still leaves a path to the wardrobe.
A home office. A recliner here is for breaks between long stretches at the desk, not a desk chair. Place it where reclining does not block the desk chair or the door.
Getting it home

Try it before you decide

Tape on the floor tells you a lot, but sitting in the chair tells you more.
